BECK
Kick [no label, 1CD]

After paying tribute to the Velvet Underground and Nico, Leonard Cohen and Skip Spence, Beck turns his attention to Australian group Inxs and their album, Kick.

This is what’s posted on Beck’s website: “Record Club No. 4 is here! Joining in this time we had three of my favorite bands - Liars, Annie Clark and Daniel Hart from St. Vincent; Sergio Dias from the legendary Brazilian band Os Mutantes; as well as Record Club veteran Brian Lebarton, just back from the Charlotte Gainsbourg tour. The record covered this time was 1987 blockbuster ‘Kick’ by INXS. The record was chosen by fellow Aussie, Angus from the Liars. It was recorded in a little over 12 hours on March 3, 2010. It was an intense, hilarious, daunting and completely fun undertaking. Thanks to everybody for being there and putting so much into it. Many classic moments, inspired performances and occasional anarchy.”

Thanks to rhsiv for sharing the tracks on the internet.

Note: Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (these are high quality MP3s - sample rate of 320 kbps). As far as we can ascertain, these tracks have never been officially released on CD.

This is great stuff.  I really enjoyed the videos.

Thanks for the link Sean.  Great covers.  I got the videos through St. Vincent's facebook posts.

Yeah, but I prefer the mp3's over the videos, since I don't watch much video on my ipod.  I'll listen to songs while working out, though...

it is definitely good to have both.  I appreciate Beck & company sharing this at no charge.
